Owner Dwight Cooley along with his family cut the ribbon to officially open Belzoni’s Catfish Café.
These are people that really know their catfish, having grown up around the industry in Belzoni, Mississippi after witch the café takes its name. It isn’t hard to understand why Belzoni, MS is considered the farm raised catfish capital of the world. Sixty percent of all farm raised catfish in the United States are produced in the 40,000 acres of ponds, in a 65 mile radius of the town.
I was impressed by the warm and friendly staff. The kind of service that you only get from a family run business and the food is fantastic. I tried the catfish meal with coleslaw and fries and I have to say, it was some of the best catfish that I have ever had and the coleslaw was good too.
If catfish isn’t your thing, they also offer chicken tenders and a 52chevy burger that looks amazing.
I highly recommend giving the place a try. I know my wife and I will be back soon.
